Argus 017T Helmet does the Great North Run

Helmet Integrated Systems Ltd (HISL) proudly sponsored an officer from the Public Order department at Thames Valley Police recently, who took part in a charity run with a difference.

PC Martin Waite, who is based at Upper Heyford, Oxfordshire, ran the Great North Run in his full public order uniform, including his Argus 017T public order helmet from HISL, to raise money for Children with Leukaemia.

Martin said: “I lost my mother to cancer six years ago and want to do something for a cancer charity. I chose Children with Leukaemia because although my mother died of cancer she had a full life. I could not imagine losing a child and now I am a granddad I could not imagine life without my grandson. By doing this run, particularly in riot gear, I hope to raise awareness and more than £1,000.

“The charity desperately needs our help to fund research into this disease and provide support to the children and their families through a very difficult time. People can sponsor me by visiting www.bmycharity.com/shieldrun. Any donations will be greatly received.”
