Steel Manufacturing – Pureflo ESM is proven in use

Pureflo powered air purifying respirators have been in use for more than two decades at some of the world’s most best-known steel manufacturing plants, including but not exclusive to facilities in the UK, USA, Belgium and France.

Used in numerous applications across the steel manufacturing plant, the Pureflo ESM, provides integrated head, eye, face, respiratory and molten metal splash protection. With no trailing leads or waist belt mounted filters it’s no wonder the unit has proven so popular in some of the most technically challenging applications around. As a senior Harsco manager put it earlier this year:

"We have been a Pureflo user for more than 20 years. We have tried just about all of the units available on the market, but we just keep coming back to Pureflo because the guys love their comfort and convenience and we never found anything that could compete with the low running costs of the Pureflo"

Harsco are a major sub contractor in the European Steel Industry offering a range of post production processes. The video below shows the Pureflo ESM fitted with a gold reflective visor which attenuates heat and light, plus a spark shield neck cape. It is in use at a large steel plant in the UK, where sub-contractors Harsco carry out a process called slab dressing or 'hand scarfing'. This is the process of repairing or eliminating any small imperfections in the metal following the original production process.

The Pureflo ESM will be on show on our stand at A+A in November 2013. You can find us on stand 3A25 – 5th to 8th November at Messe Dusseldorf Trade Fair Ground, Dusseldorf, Germany.
