NEWS BRIEF: South African Navy Purchase ECHO Helmet
The ECHO helmet is designed to provide latest technology multi-way cordless radio communications between members of fire fighting teams and a forward control position. Now fully NATO stock coded and in use on all UK Royal Navy surface ships and submarines, it was originally developed for the Royal Navy, after they had established a requirement for a helmet with integral radio, that would provide excellent communications in the very difficult conditions that apply during fire and damage control operations onboard ship.
In addition the Echo can be used in difficult communication environments such as tunnels, or when wearing gas-tight /chemical protective suits.
